I had Perlane injections in my decollete in June 2009 but there are lumps at the injection sites.Sherif Wilson: Perlane is a wrinkle filler made from hyaluronic acid (a naturally forming substance that is used in Restylane, Juvederm Ultra, amongst others). It is one of the highest viscosity fillers and designed for use on deep folds or to change facial contours.
I would like to know if all Restylane treatments are the same.Asit Khandwala : Most ‘routine’ fillers are the same and are based on hyaluronic acid. Radiesse is a calcium based filler.
I had Restylane injections around my mouth 5 days ago. Lumps have formed where the needle went in!Roy Ng: It is not unusual to have a few lumps and bumps - they can be massaged and should subside unless it is filler that is too close to the skin's surface in which case it will stay until it dissolves. However, if you have concerns like this, it is best to see the practitioner who performed the injections.
I had Botox in 3 areas 6 days ago but can't see a difference. Are there occassions it doesn't take?Graham Offer: Botox reliably reduces muscle activity and hence wrinkles. Movement reduces after 2-4 days, and wrinkles appear less deep in 10-14 days. However a number of factors can affect its effectiveness. If the solution was made too dilute, then there would be less effect.
What is the difference between Botox/Vistabel (Botulinum) and Juvederm/Restylane fillers?Paul Banwell: Botox and Vistabel are both trade names of an anti-wrinkle injection that works by reducing the amount of muscle movement and hence the degree of skin wrinkling. They are given by injection and are primarily used to treat wrinkles that are due to muscle movement around the eyes & forehead
