Mr Jonathan Staiano
Mr Jonathan Staiano, BSc, MBBS, MSc, FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Plast), is a consultant plastic surgeon with a private practice based at the Priory Hospital in Edgbaston, the Droitwich Spa Hospital in Droitwich and the Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull and an NHS practice at Birmingham City Hospital, having previously been a consultant in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Special Interests
He has a special interest in breast reconstruction and he performs all aspects of cosmetic breast surgery including breast augmentation, breast reduction, gynaecomastia correction, breast uplift (mastopexy) and surgery for breast asymmetry and tuberous breast deformity. He also has an interest in body contouring and performs all types of abdominoplasty including mini-abdominoplasty, fleur-de-lys abdominoplasty and reverse abdominoplasty. He performs liposuction, brachioplasty (arm reduction) and thigh lift. He is also interested in the management of benign and malignant skin lesions and welcomes referrals of lesions of any size in any part of the body, without the need for a GP letter.
He provides a full reconstructive service following mastectomy or wide local excision and is one of the few surgeons in the region to offer free DIEP and TRAM flap breast reconstruction. He performs extended latissimus dorsi flaps with and without an implant and implant only reconstructions.
Training & Qualifications
He qualified in medicine from Guy’s Hospital in London in 1994 with a BSc in Pharmacology. He also has an MSc in Surgical Sciences from UCL. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, FRCS(Eng), in 1998 and passed the intercollegiate specialty examination in Plastic Surgery, FRCS(Plast.) in 2005. He has completed a cosmetic fellowship in the North West and has undertaken specialist fellowships in plastic surgery in the field of cancer reconstruction at the internationally acclaimed Royal Marsden Hospital in London and in Wellington, New Zealand.
