Mr James Murphy

Mr James Murphy is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon whose private practice is based exclusively at the Spire Hospital in the Whalley Range area of Manchester.  He offers the full range of Cosmetic Surgical procedures and specialises in facial cosmetic surgery, aesthetic breast surgery and body contouring.  In addition, he is the Senior Consultant in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Christie NHS Hospital in Manchester, specialising in reconstructive surgery for patients with facial skin cancer, sarcoma and breast cancer.
Mr Murphy is a highly prominent, fully accredited, internationally trained Plastic Surgeon and is entered on the Specialist Register for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons {BAPRAS} and also the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons {BAAPS}.
Mr Murphy graduated from Medical School in 1992 and embarked on his surgical training, completing his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996.  He then undertook his training in plastic surgery working in prestigious units in the UK {Oxford, Salisbury, Stoke Mandeville and London}.  He then completed the Wellington Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship in London and subsequently worked abroad in the USA, Australia and New Zealand training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
In 2001 he was awarded the Higher Postgraduate Degree of Master of Surgery for research carried out during his training and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery {FRCS Plast} in 2002.
Mr Murphy has published numerous articles in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and has presented papers on many aspects of Plastic Surgery both nationally and internationally.  He is integrally involved in National Program for higher surgical training in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and is a Supervising Consultant in the Northwest Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship Program, training the plastic surgeons of the future.
