Mr Guy Sterne

Mr Guy Sterne qualified from Birmingham Medical School in 1988. He was always interested in surgery and after teaching Anatomy for a year, he trained as a surgeon and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992.
A keen interest in art and a tendency to perfectionism led him to higher surgical training as a Plastic Surgeon. He then took 2 years out of surgical training whilst he researched wound healing and nerve regeneration and this culminated in a Doctorate of Medicine and also the award of a Hunterian Professorship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
After training as a Plastic Surgeon Mr Sterne undertook specialist training in Breast Reconstruction and now spends most of his time in the NHS undertaking breast reconstructions or correcting severe congenital anomalies of the breast. Before taking up a Consultant Post in the NHS, he completed a rare ‘hands-on’ Fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery in which he gained valuable operative experience of the finer nuances of endoscopic brow lifting, facelifting, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasties.
Mr Sterne was appointed as Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2002, and over the past 8 years has developed a general plastic and breast reconstructive practice at the City Hospital in Birmingham, as well as developing a busy and successful private practice in Birmingham, Worcester and Gloucester. He remains a keen teacher and researcher and in addition to publishing widely and lecturing nationally and internationally in Plastic Surgery, he is the current Plastic Surgery Tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is on GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
When not working he spends his time with his wife and boys on various sporting pursuits, ranging from rugby and golf to body boarding and fishing. Good food and wine make an occasional appearance and when he can find time he still enjoys drawing, painting and photography.

Mr Guy Sterne is a plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon working in the Midlands. He has practises in 3 private hospitals in Halesowen near Birmingham, Worcester and Gloucester, where he undertakes all aspects of plastic and cosmetic surgery.
