David Floyd has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at The Royal Free and University College Hospitals in London since 2002. He is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) as a Specialist in Plastic Surgery and is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic surgeons (BAAPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
Mr Floyd’s special interests in his NHS practice include, reconstructive microsurgery of the breast following mastectomy, adult and paediatric hand surgery and abdominal reconstruction for complex hernias.
In his private practice he undertakes all aspects of cosmetic surgery including the face, breast and abdomen as well as reconstructive surgery of the breast and hand. Particular interests include rhinoplasy, revision breast augmentation and abdominal contouring.
He graduated from Cambridge University in 1985 and completed his medical degree at University College Hospital London in 1988. Following 4 years of General Surgical training he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1993. In 1995 he was awarded a Masters degree (MSc) for his research into scarring and wound healing.
Eight years of Plastic Surgery training were obtained in London Plastic Surgery units including, University College Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital, Charing Cross and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals. Specialist interests were developed with fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital in paediatric plastic surgery, The Royal Marsden Hospital in breast reconstruction and The Wellington Hospital in cosmetic surgery. He obtained  accreditation in plastic surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, FRCS (Plast) in 2001.
